In the book of Genesis, the first chapter gives the creation story. God creates the world in five days on the sixth day creating man. The seventh day provides rest and is set apart. In these verses of scripture we see God speaking and then what’s spoken, immediately comes to pass. What faith filled (or negative) words have you spoken lately? Do you expect them to come to fruition?
In the first chapter of Genesis God shows the believer that faith filled words can manifest results. Many times in our lives we will speak the exact opposite of what we truly want or need. Phrases such as “my back is killing me” or “you make me sick” have come to dominate some of our conversations. The bible is filled with examples of this power within our mouth.
Today, let’s speak words of edification and encouragement for ourselves and others. March into 2013 verbally decreeing what we want to see in our lives. Not what we have seen, not our fears or what others say. Take control of your tongue and use it for Gods glory and for positive change in our environment.
